Illustrated Animal Adventures

Illustrations by Roxana Lehmann-Haupt presented in collaboration with Inwood Artworks. An exploration of animals and magic through stories and illustrations.

Roxana Lehmann-Haupt grew up in a small town populated by artists, writers, actors, and a good dose of magic. “A ‘Pooh Sticks’ race was held for many summers on the sleepy Shepaug River that ran through our town,” she says.

“All sorts of fantastic artists’ creations bobbed downstream alongside our humble sticks (A friend recently reminded me that usually a stick won). I hope to impart that quirky sense of art and a bit of magic with my illustrations.”

You can see some of Roxana’s colorful illustrations at a special exhibition in the Inwood Public Library until March, and meet the artist herself at a special event in the library on January 27 from 12pm to 2pm (light refreshments provided).
