Focus on Photography

Don’t miss this pop-up gallery celebrating the work of Inwood photographers and art that connects to the community’s vibrant uptown culture. Featured artists will include: Robert and Robbie Bailey, Bruce Katz, Stephen Mallon, Tom Okada, Luis Pons, Cristobal Vivar, and Bob Wagner.

The gallery is open 6pm-10pm Thursdays & Fridays, and 12pm-8pm Saturdays & Sundays, or by appointment.

Psycho

A live string quartet of Juilliard-trained artists from Inwood’s Listen Closely will play Herrmann’s Psycho Suite and the equally-haunting, stand-alone string quartet Echoes, followed by a special screening of Psycho, the original slasher film and one of Hitchcock’s masterpieces.

The horror movie genius Tobe Hooper died this year and to honor him we’re showing his two most infamous films — the Stephen Spielberg-penned Poltergeist (1982), followed by Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), often cited as the scariest and most influential horror film ever made

Halloween splashed across movie screens in 1978 and rocketed to instant classic. Often imitated but never equaled, Halloween defined a generation of horror cinema. It will be introduced by John C. Foster, a writer of thrillers and dark fiction who’s been afraid of the dark for as long as he can remember.
