El Verdugo (The Executioner)

This black comic masterpiece by Luis García Berlanga offers a scathing critique of Franco-era values through a macabre farce about an undertaker who marries an executioner’s daughter and reluctantly takes over her father’s job so the family can keep their government-allotted apartment. Pre-show performance by Xianix Barrera Flamenco at 7:30pm.

Food and drink is available for purchase at the venue. Capacity is currently limited to 200 people and admission is free only with RSVP ticket. Unclaimed tickets will be released to the walk-up wait list ten minutes before the film starts. Walk-ups will then be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating for 80 people will be provided, but you can also bring your own blankets and folding chairs if you prefer.
