Newsies is Disney’s first live-action musical. Based on the New York City newsboy strike of 1899, the “newsies” band together to protest a pay cut by their bosses, organizing a union to protect their rights and ensure fair wages. Featuring music by Alan Menken and staring Christian Bale, Bill Pullman, Robert Duvall and Ann-Margret.
