Events

Check back regularly for more events in Inwood and be sure to spread the word about those you’re interested in attending. The more people we can get to these events, the more exposure local artists will get — something that’s always our goal. Unless otherwise noted, events are free.

What the World Needs Now

What if artists were in a place to make the major decisions for society? With this group exhibition and fundraising auction, Inwood Art Works gives the power to our neighborhood artists to contribute their take on what they believe would make our local and global community a better place.

What the World Needs Now is a local artist exhibition and fundraising auction for Inwood Art Works that empowers artists to proactively interpret and express their world view through their work on this theme. All works are for auction and can be bid upon through December 23 at 5pm.

Inwood Gallery opening hours:
  • Thursday: 6-10pm
  • Friday: 6-10pm
  • Saturday: 12-8pm
  • Sunday: 12-6pm

In a neighborhood bereft of art galleries, Inwood Art Works attracted 2500 people to its pop-up Inwood Art Works Gallery exhibition in the fall of 2017. The return of the Inwood Art Works Gallery in 2018 continues our service to local artists, expands public access to professional visual arts in Northern Manhattan, and presents as diverse an array of art as the community it serves.

What the World Needs Now is curated by Inwood Art Works, Aaron Simms, Founder and Executive Producer.
